ṛjīpī śyeno dadamāno aṃśuṃ parāvataḥ śakuno mandraṃ madam somaṃ bharaddādṛhāṇo devāvāndivo amuṣmāduttarādādāya
The straight-winged falcon gave the bright ray, the bird’s menacing roar subdued my pride. He bore Soma, bestowing it; the gods received it from the heavens and gave it back from above.
The straight-flying hawk, conveying the Soma from afar; the bird, attended by the gods, brought, resolute of purpose, the adorable exhilarating Soma, having taken it from that lofty heaven.
Bearing the stalk, the Falcon speeding onward, Bird bringing from afar the draught that gladdens, Friend of the Gods, brought, grasping fast, the Soma which be bad taken from yon loftiest heaven.
