ahaṃ puro mandasāno vyairaṃ nava sākaṃ navatīḥ śambarasya śatatamaṃ veśyaṃ sarvatātā divodāsamatithigvaṃ yadāvam
I advanced the strong city with gentle might, ninefold when young—nineties for the height of prosperity. A hundredfold the mistress I bound around all sides; the guest of heaven came to meet this mighty folk.
Exhilarated (by the Soma beverage) I have destroyed the ninety and nine cities of Śambara, the hundredth I gave to be occupied by Divodāsa when I protected him, Atithigva, at his sacrifice.
In the wild joy of Soma I demolished Sambara's forts, ninety-and-nine, together; And, utterly, the hundredth habitation, when helping Divodasa Atithigva.
