तमिद्व॒ इन्द्रं॑ सु॒हवं॑ हुवेम॒ यस्ता च॒कार॒ नर्या॑ पु॒रूणि॑ । यो माव॑ते जरि॒त्रे गध्यं॑ चिन्म॒क्षू वाजं॒ भर॑ति स्पा॒र्हरा॑धाः
tamidva indraṃ suhavaṃ huvema yastā cakāra naryā purūṇi yo māvate jaritre gadhyaṃ cinmakṣū vājaṃ bharati spārharādhāḥ
We invoke that Indra who is of friendly mind, who made many peoples. He who in battle struck down foes, who takes the spoils and fills the chariot, bears mighty homage and praise.
Let us invoke that gracious Indra who has made so many things good for man; who, bestowing enviable opulence, quickly brings acceptable food to a worshipper like me.
Call we for you that Indra, prompt to listen, him who hath done so much for men's advantage; Who, Lord of envied bounty, to a singer like me brings quickly booty worth the capture.
