tvaṃ pipruṃ mṛgayaṃ śūśuvāṃsamṛjiśvane vaidathināya randhīḥ pañcāśatkṛṣṇā ni vapaḥ sahasrātkaṃ na puro jarimā vi dardaḥ
Thou didst press the hunt, the chase of stags and swift dogs; for the seer-folk thou didst make snares. Fifty black ones are the streams; from a thousand thou didst not retire; the pain did not seize the front.
You have subjugated Pipru and the mighty Mṛgayā for the sake of Ṛjiṣvan, the son of Vidathin, you have slain the fifty thousand Kṛṣṇas; and, as old age (destroys) life, you have demolished the cities (of Śambara).
Thou to the son of Vidathin, Rjisvan, gavest up mighty Mrgaya and Pipru. Thou smotest down the swarthy fifty thousand, and rentest forts as age consumes a garment.
