O Agni, glorious for you is the thousand‑fold favor, the cooked food shines like the sun. The bright one observed with shining sight, guarded by the night, sees the form of food in radiance.
Powerful Agni, your auspicious radiance shines upon the proximity of the sun (by day); your bright and visible (lustre) is conspicuous by night, as the bland and plural asing food (of sacrifice, the oblation) becomes manifest in your form.
THY blessed majesty, victorious Agni, shines brightly in the neighbourhood of Surya. Splendid to see, it shows even at nighttime, and food is fair to look on in thy beauty.
