Earlier ones ravished you and opened you in the ancient dew—truthful in speech. A man along with you, like valiant pair, the earth honored with known rites.
Heaven and earth, endowed with truth, they who are the ancient declarers of the truth, have obtained from you (what they desired); and so, earth, men cognizant (of the greaness of you both) have worshipped you for the sake of triumphing over (hostile) heroes in battle.
Yea, holy Heaven and Earth, the ancient sages whose word was ever true had power to find you; And brave men in the fightwhere heroes conquer, O Earth, have known you well and paid you honour.
