द्यावो॒ न स्तृभि॑श्चितयन्त खा॒दिनो॒ व्य१॒॑भ्रिया॒ न द्यु॑तयन्त वृ॒ष्टयः॑ । रु॒द्रो यद्वो॑ मरुतो रुक्मवक्षसो॒ वृषाज॑नि॒ पृश्न्याः॑ शु॒क्र ऊध॑नि
dyāvo na stṛbhiścitayanta khādino vya1bhriyā na dyutayanta vṛṣṭayaḥ rudro yadvo maruto rukmavakṣaso vṛṣājani pṛśnyāḥ śukra ūdhani
The heavens did not restrain their swift floods, nor did the clouds veil their splendour; Rudra — the Maruts with golden breasts — yoked the bulls of the bright steeds and uplifted the shining milky streams.
Since, golden-breasted Maruts, the vigorous (Rudra) begot you of the pure wombof Pṛśnī, therefore they, the devourers (of their enemies), are conspicuous (by their ornaments), as the heavens are by the constellations; and, senders of rain, they are brilliant as the cloud-born (lightning).
They gleam with armlets as the heavens are decked with stars, like cloud-born lightnings shine the torrents of their rain. Since the strong Rudra, O Maruts with brilliant chests, sprang into life for you in Prsni's radiant lap.
