pra va eko mimaya bhūryāgo yanmā piteva kitavaṃ śaśāsa āre pāśā āre aghāni devā mā mādhi putre vimiva grabhīṣṭa
One leader advanced far; may he not rule as a father who seizes. O gods, restrain snares and evils; do not, O gods, bring disasters upon the desired son.
Alone among you, I have committed many offences, (which correct) as a father corrects a naughty (son); far from me, gods, bebonds; far from be sins; size not upon me (your) son as (a fowler) catches a bird.
I singly have sinned many a sin against you, and ye chastised me as a sire the gambler. Far be your nets, far, Gods, be mine offences: seize me not like a bird upon her offspring.
