Mightiest in splendor, protector, you sustain the ascetics' fervor; preserve the hero seen in vision. Stretch forth the plough that rouses wholeness, Brihaspati, and remove decaying things afar.
Consume with your brightest (weapon) the rākṣasas, who have held your witnessed prowess in disdain; manifest, Bṛhaspati, your glorified (vigour), such as it was (of old), and destroy those who speak against you.
Burn up the demons with thy fiercest flaming brand, those who have scorned thee in thy manifested might. Show forth that power that shall deserve the hymn of praise: destroy the evil speakers, O Brhaspati.
