सद्मे॑व॒ प्राचो॒ वि मि॑माय॒ मानै॒र्वज्रे॑ण॒ खान्य॑तृणन्न॒दीना॑म् । वृथा॑सृजत्प॒थिभि॑र्दीर्घया॒थैः सोम॑स्य॒ ता मद॒ इन्द्र॑श्चकार
sadmeva prāco vi mimāya mānairvajreṇa khānyatṛṇannadīnām vṛthāsṛjatpathibhirdīrghayāthaiḥ somasya tā mada indraścakāra
He pierced the eastern threshold with thunderbolt, split away the rocky streams and grasses. He did not create paths in vain; by these long roads did Indra make the realms of Soma.
(He it is) who has measured the eastern (quarters) with measures like a chamber; who has dug with the thunderbolt the beds of the rivers, and has easily sent them forth by long-continued paths; in the exhilaration of the Soma, Indra has done these (deeds).
From front, as 'twere a house, he ruled and measured; pierced with his bolt the fountains of the rivers, And made them flow at ease by paths far-reaching, These things did Indra in the Soma's rapture.
