dhiṣvā śavaḥ śūra yena vṛtramavābhinaddānumaurṇavābham apāvṛṇorjyotirāryāya ni savyataḥ sādi dasyurindra
By wise ones was the hero who struck Vṛtra born; the twain he made manifest. He unveiled light across the Austere, splendid and hostile to the Dasyus, Indra.
Indra, hero, keep up the strength wherewith you have crushed Vṛtra, the spider-like son of Dānu, and let open the light to the Ārya; the Dasyu has been set aside on your left hand.
Hero, assume the might wherewith thou clavest Vrtra piecemeal, the Danava Aurnavabha. Thou hast disclosed the light to light the Arya: on thy left hand, O Indra, sank the Dasyu.
