आ दे॒वो दू॒तो अ॑जि॒रश्चि॑कि॒त्वान्त्वद्दे॑वापे अ॒भि माम॑गच्छत् । प्र॒ती॒ची॒नः प्रति॒ मामा व॑वृत्स्व॒ दधा॑मि ते द्यु॒मतीं॒ वाच॑मा॒सन्
ā devo dūto ajiraścikitvāntvaddevāpe abhi māmagacchat pratīcīnaḥ prati māmā vavṛtsva dadhāmi te dyumatīṃ vācamāsan
A god, messenger and swift, approaching the gods, came to me. He opened eastward toward me; I set down the sky‑mind (dyumatīṃ) in words.
Let a divine messenger quick and intelligent sent, Devāpi, by you come to me. Come, Bṛhaspati, tome, turning towards me; I have in my mouth a brilliant eulogium for you.
The God, intelligent, the speedy envoy whom thou hast sent hath come to me, Devapi: Address thyself to me and turn thee hither within thy lips will I put brilliant language.
