For the sacrifice may your chariot, O Vasya, and the all-lord, the oblation-bearer, come to the sacrificial place with splendour. Grief seized the dry mares, the yoked stallions; the bulls lowed and the banners of the sacrifice lay down upon the heaven.
You (gods, adore) the charioteer of the sacrifice, the lord of men, the invoker of the gods, the guest ofnight, the resplendent (Agni). Blazing amid the dry (bushes) preying upon the green, the showerer of desires, thebanner (of light), the adorable, he reposes in heaven.
I PRAISE your Charioteer of sacrifice, the Lord of men, Priest of the tribes, refulgent, Guest of night. Blazing amid dry plants, snatching amid the green, the Strong, the Holy Herald hath attained to heaven.
