ऐच्छा॑म त्वा बहु॒धा जा॑तवेदः॒ प्रवि॑ष्टमग्ने अ॒प्स्वोष॑धीषु । तं त्वा॑ य॒मो अ॑चिकेच्चित्रभानो दशान्तरु॒ष्याद॑ति॒रोच॑मानम्
aicchāma tvā bahudhā jātavedaḥ praviṣṭamagne apsvoṣadhīṣu taṃ tvā yamo acikeccitrabhāno daśāntaruṣyādatirocamānam
O born‑knower, I long for you who in many forms, Agni, entered among the waters and herbs. Yama sought you, shining like a wondrous light, to pass through the ten directions, bright and far‑moving.
(The gods). We sought for you, Agni Jātavedas, who had entered in many ways into the waters, intothe plural nts; Yama recognized you, who have adorable rays, blazing from your ten hiding-plural ces.
In many places, Agni Jatavedas, we sought thee hidden in the plants and waters. Then Yama marked thee, God of wondrous splendour! effulgent from thy tenfold secret dwelling,
