You, O gods, move not away — O you who pluck at the threads of mantra and listen — we invoke protection with wings and fortresses.
O gods, we never injure (you), we never inflict annoyance (on you), we follow the teaching of themantra; we take hold of you at this (sacrifice) with wings and arms.
Never, O Gods, do we offend, nor are we ever obstinate: we walk as holy texts command. Closely we clasp and cling to you, cling to your sides, beneath your arms.
