Cows were milked for Vrishṇi; by the milking of the day the hymn was poured out to Aditi. Varuna knew the whole—may he, as sage, sacrifice the rites duly.
The great, the unconquerable (Agni), the showerer, milks openly with a (great) milking the streams (ofprosperity) from heaven for the unwearying sacrificer; like Varuṇa, he knows everything by his understanding;may he who is skilled in sacrifice observe the sacrificial seasona.
THE Bull hath yielded for the Bull the milk of heaven: the Son of Aditi can never be deceived. According to his wisdom Varuna knoweth all: may he, the Holy, hallow times for sacrifice.
