स तु वस्त्रा॒ण्यध॒ पेश॑नानि॒ वसा॑नो अ॒ग्निर्नाभा॑ पृथि॒व्याः । अ॒रु॒षो जा॒तः प॒द इळा॑याः पु॒रोहि॑तो राजन्यक्षी॒ह दे॒वान्
sa tu vastrāṇyadha peśanāni vasāno agnirnābhā pṛthivyāḥ aruṣo jātaḥ pada iḷāyāḥ purohito rājanyakṣīha devān
He placed many garments and robes; Agni is the navel of the earth. Born radiant, the sacrificer, the priest, with sacred fuel leads the gods.
Arrayed in splendid garments, that Agni (abides) on the navel of the earth; do you, royal (Agni), whoare radiant, born on the foot-mark of Iḷā, offer worship here as Purohita to the gods.
So Agni stands on earth's most central station, invested in well-decorated garments. Born, red of hue, where men pour out libations, O King, as great High Priest bring the Gods hither.
