O god of gods, Mitra wondrous, bearer of riches, charming in your course: may your protective shelter bring us joy. O Agni, be our friend — do not abandon us.

You, brilliant (Agni), are the especial friend of the gods; you, who are graceful in the sacrifice are the confirmer of all riches; may we be present in your most spacious chamber of sacrifice; let us not, Agni, suffer injury through your friendship.

Thou art a God, thou art the wondrous Friend of Gods, the Vasu of the Vasus, fair in sacrifice. Under, thine own most wide protection may we dwell. Let us not in thy friendship, Agni, suffer harm.
