ऊ॒र्ध्वं नु॑नुद्रेऽव॒तं त ओज॑सा दादृहा॒णं चि॑द्बिभिदु॒र्वि पर्व॑तम् । धम॑न्तो वा॒णं म॒रुतः॑ सु॒दान॑वो॒ मदे॒ सोम॑स्य॒ रण्या॑नि चक्रिरे
ūrdhvaṃ nunudre'vataṃ ta ojasā dādṛhāṇaṃ cidbibhidurvi parvatam dhamanto vāṇaṃ marutaḥ sudānavo made somasya raṇyāni cakrire
Upward indeed they roared with vigor, cleaving the mountain with sharp force. The Maruts, resounding, like youthful heroes, made the meads of Soma glad and stirred the battle-places.
By their power, they bore the well aloft, and clove asunder the mountain that obstructed their path; the munificent Maruts, blowing upon their pipe, have conferred, when exhilarated by the Soma, desirable (gifts upon the sacrificer).
They with their vigorous strength pushed the well up on high, and clove the cloud in twain though it was passing strong. The Maruts, bounteous Givers, sending forth their voice, in the wild joy of Soma wrought their glorious deeds.
