When Vṛtra and Asani were bound by thy bolt and the combat godlike, Indra the slayer of foes; the slain one lay bound in the sky—raise and secure thy sovereignty.
When you (Indra), did encounter with your bolt Vṛtra and the thunderbolt (which he hurled), then Indra, the strength of you determination to slay Ahi was displayed in the heavens, manifesting your own sovereignty.
Whenwith the thunder thou didst make thy dart and Vrtra meet in war, Thy might, O Indra, fain to slay the Dragon, was set firm in heaven, lauding thine own imperial sway.
