ए॒वाग्निर्गोत॑मेभिरृ॒तावा॒ विप्रे॑भिरस्तोष्ट जा॒तवे॑दाः । स ए॑षु द्यु॒म्नं पी॑पय॒त्स वाजं॒ स पु॒ष्टिं या॑ति॒ जोष॒मा चि॑कि॒त्वान्
evāgnirgotamebhirṛtāvā viprebhirastoṣṭa jātavedāḥ sa eṣu dyumnaṃ pīpayatsa vājaṃ sa puṣṭiṃ yāti joṣamā cikitvān
Thus Agni, like the Gotamas, born of the knowers, praised by Brahmins, drank the ether and drew forth the power; he attains nourishment and the vigor that heals.
Thus has Agni, the celebrator of sacrifices, and by whom all things are known, been hymned by the pious descendant of Gotama; to them he has given the bright Soma to drink, along with the sacrificial food, and gratified by our devotion, he obtains nutriment (for himself).
Thus Agni Jatavedas, true to Order, hath by the priestly Gotamas been lauded. May he augment in them splendour and vigour: observant, as he lists, he gathers increase.
