सं॒जा॒ना॒ना उप॑ सीदन्नभि॒ज्ञु पत्नी॑वन्तो नम॒स्यं॑ नमस्यन् । रि॒रि॒क्वांस॑स्त॒न्वः॑ कृण्वत॒ स्वाः सखा॒ सख्यु॑र्नि॒मिषि॒ रक्ष॑माणाः
saṃjānānā upa sīdannabhijñu patnīvanto namasyaṃ namasyan ririkvāṃsastanvaḥ kṛṇvata svāḥ sakhā sakhyurnimiṣi rakṣamāṇāḥ
Those who know joined together, sitting near, acquainted and husbanded; saluting they saluted. They made swift-acting, steadfast friends; companions and comrades, protecting in an instant.
The gods, discovering you, sat down, and with their wives paid reverntial adoration to you upon their knees. Secure on beholding their friend, of being protected, your friends, the gods, abandoned the rest of their bodies in sacrifice.
Nigh they approached, one-minded, with their spouses, kneeling to him adorable paid worship. Friend finding in his own friend's eye protection, they made their own the bodies which they chastened.
