The strong, resolute fathers, by hymns, struck the moist hill with roaring force. They made the vast heavens resound for me; these bright ones knew the signs of dawn.
Our forefathers, the Aṅgirasas, by their praises (of Agni), terrified the strong and daring devourer, (Paṇi), by the sound; they made for us a path to the vast heaven, and obtained accessible day, the ensign of day, (Āditya) and the cows (that had been stolen).
Our sires with lauds burst e'en the firmset fortress, yea, the Angirases, with roar, the mountain. They made for us a way to reach high heaven, they found us day, light, day's sign, beams of morning.
