gṛṇāno aṅgirobhirdasma vi varuṣasā sūryeṇa gobhirandhaḥ vi bhūmyā aprathaya indra sānu divo raja uparamastabhāyaḥ
Angirases, like bulls, thundered with rainy vigour; the sun with cattle made darkness. Indra, with the earth’s might, advanced — he sent forth the splendour of heaven and the upper light.
Destroyer of foes, praised by the Aṅgirasas, you have scattered the darkness with the dawn, and with the rays of the sun; you have made straight the elevations of the earth; you have strengthened the foundations of the ethereal region.
Praised by Angirases, thou, foe-destroyer, hast, with the Dawn, Sun, rays, dispellcd the darkness. Thou Indra, hast spread out the earths high ridges, and firmly fixed the region under heaven.
