He who bears up the earth, unmoved, established the atmosphere; in the days of heaven he stood firm. Indra, exulting, struck Vṛtra; the ocean’s waters embraced the foe and were driven away.
. When you, destroying Indra, did distribute the (previously) hidden life-sustaining, undecaying waters through the different quarters of the heaven, then, animated (by Soma), you did engage in battle, and with exulting (prowess) slew Vṛtra, and did send down an ocean of waters.
When thou with might, upon the framework of the heaven, didst fix, across, air's region firmly, unremoved, In the light-winning war, Indra, in rapturous joy, thou smotest Vrtra dead and broughtest floods of rain.
