upo ratheṣu pṛṣatīrayugdhvaṃ praṣṭirvahati rohitaḥ ā vo yāmāya pṛthivī cidaśrodabībhayanta mānuṣāḥ
Above the plains, the ploughshare fights, the steer presses on the furrow; you, O Maruts, and the earth cause cries and fear among men.
You have harnessed the spotted deer to your chariot; the red deer yoked between them, (aids to) drag the car; the firmament listens for your coming, and men are alarmed.
Ye to your chariot have yoked the spotted deer: a red deer, as a leader, draws. Even the Earth herself listened as ye came near, and men were sorely terrified.
