You, O Agni, first born, Agni the Angirasa, are the seer who adorns the gods with ritual. Mighty one, for the world you are the wise protector; twice-born, you lie as creator, discerning in many ways.
You, Agni, the first and chief Aṅgiras, grace the worship of the gods; sapient, maniforld, for the benefit of all the world, intelligent, the off-spring of two mothers, and reposing in various ways for the use of man.
O Agni, thou, the best and earliest Angiras, fulfillest as a Sage the holy law of Gods. Sprung from two mothers, wise, through all existence spread, resting in many a place for sake of living man.
