Thus was the great progeny born—the mighty Bṛhaspati, the bull, laid down as a divine law. He praised us, may he give heroic gifts; we keep this herd, the milking cattle, the life-giving kine.
So, Bṛhaspati, the mighty, be beneficent, the powerful, the showerer (of benefits), the divine, has been glorified; praised by us, may he make us possessed of progeny and cattle, that hence we may obtain food, strength and long life.
So hath Brhaspati, great, strong and mighty, the God exceeding powerful, been brought hither. May he thus lauded give us kine and horses. May we find strengthening food in full abundance.
