You are our Indra, the ruling lord of men, the most invincible among kings. Grant us all your favors, the sought‑after aid; we invoke this bounty, the moving herd, with life‑giving thought.
Be you, Indra, at all times our especial defender; the preserver of our people, the bestower of strength upon all these our emulous (followers); that we may obtain food, strength, and long life.
Indra, mayst thou be ours in all occasions, protector of the men, most gentle-hearted, Giving us victory over all our rivals. May we find strengthening food in full abundance.
