asmādahaṃ taviṣādīṣamāṇa indrādbhiyā maruto rejamānaḥ yuṣmabhyaṃ havyā niśitānyāsantānyāre cakṛmā mṛḷatā naḥ
I, burned by poison and weakened, am restored by Indra and the Maruts. To you we offer the nightly oblations and morning gifts; grant us strength of melody.
Maruts, through fear of that violent Indra, I fly, trembling, (from his presence); the oblations that had been prepared for you have been put away; nevertheless, have patience with us.
I fled in terrror from this mighty Indra, my body trembling in alarm, O Maruts. Oblations meant for you had been made ready; these have we set aside: for this forgive us.
