You are the first of the airy ones, the earliest of Soma‑drinks, worthy to be drunk by youths. You are the best of rivers and channels, inhabiting the streams. All the cows churned for you the clarified butter; they milked the rich butter for the sacred offering.
You, Vāyu, who are preceded by none, are entitled to drink first of these our Soma libations; you are entitled to drink of the effused, moreover, (of all) oblations and sin-offerings of men; for you, their cattle yield milk; (for you) they yield butter.
Thou, Vayu, who hast none before thee, first of all hast right to drink these offerings of Soma juice, hast right to drink the juice out-poured, Yea, poured by all invoking tribes who free themselves from taint of sin, For thee all cows are milked to yield the Soma-milk, to yield the butter and the milk.
