gṛhaṃgṛhamahanā yātyacchā divedive adhi nāmā dadhānā siṣāsantī dyotanā śaśvadāgādagramagramidbhajate vasūnām
House to house, day by day she goes, giving names above; shining, endowed with light she dwells, praising wealth in the foremost village and the distant.
Ahana, charged with downward-bending (light), goes daily from house to house; she comes, perpetually diffusing light, and desirous of bestowing (benefits), and accepts the choicest portions of (the sacrificial) treasures.
Showing her wonted form each day that passeth, spreading the light she visiteth each dwelling. Eager for conquest, with bright sheen she cometh. Her portion is the best of goodly treasures.
