पूर्वा॒ विश्व॑स्मा॒द्भुव॑नादबोधि॒ जय॑न्ती॒ वाजं॑ बृह॒ती सनु॑त्री । उ॒च्चा व्य॑ख्यद्युव॒तिः पु॑न॒र्भूरोषा अ॑गन्प्रथ॒मा पू॒र्वहू॑तौ
pūrvā viśvasmādbhuvanādabodhi jayantī vājaṃ bṛhatī sanutrī uccā vyakhyadyuvatiḥ punarbhūroṣā aganprathamā pūrvahūtau
Earlier she, ruler of the worlds, awakened the earth; victorious, she spread wide the great wealth. Lofty speech declared again the abundant light; Agni first was invoked of those offered before.
First of all the world is she awake, triumphing over transitory (darkness); the mighty, the giver (of light) from on high, she beholds (all things); ever youthful, ever reviving, she comes first to the invocation.
She before all the living world hath wakened, the Lofty One who wins and gathers treasure. Revived and ever young on high she glances. Dawn hath come first unto our morning worship.
