nakṣaddhavamaruṇīḥ pūrvyaṃ rāṭ turo viśāmaṅgirasāmanu dyūn takṣadvajraṃ niyutaṃ tastambhaddyāṃ catuṣpade naryāya dvipāde
The star-quick Rudra, the eastern, uprose; the hero rushed with Angirases and yonder set the thunderbolt appointed, he fixed the columns of heaven four-footed, for men with two feet and with twofold law.
May he, illuminating the purple (dawn), listen to the invocation (addressed to him) of old, daily besowing wealth upon the race of Aṅgiras; he has sharpened his fatal shaft; he has supported the heaven for the good of men, of quadrupeds, andbipeds.
Lord of red dawns, he came victorious, daily to the Angirases' former invocation. His bolt and team hath he prepared, and stablished the heaven for quadrupeds and men two-footed.
