vi pṛcchāmi pākyā3 na devānvaṣaṭkṛtasyādbhutasya dasrā pātaṃ ca sahyaso yuvaṃ ca rabhyaso naḥ
I ask about the sacrificial portions, not the gods’ eightfold wealth; be it of what has become, the tenth. May the support and the rising strength be ours, not the harmful for us.
I invite not the gods immature (in wisdom), but you, Dasras; drink of the wonderful and strength-giving burnt-offering, and make us vigorous.
Simply, ye Mighty Ones, I ask the Gods of that wondrous oblation hallowed by the mystic word. Save us from what is stronger, fiercer than ourselves.
