स व॑ज्र॒भृद्द॑स्यु॒हा भी॒म उ॒ग्रः स॒हस्र॑चेताः श॒तनी॑थ॒ ऋभ्वा॑ । च॒म्री॒षो न शव॑सा॒ पाञ्च॑जन्यो म॒रुत्वा॑न्नो भव॒त्विन्द्र॑ ऊ॒ती
sa vajrabhṛddasyuhā bhīma ugraḥ sahasracetāḥ śatanītha ṛbhvā camrīṣo na śavasā pāñcajanyo marutvānno bhavatvindra ūtī
From his mighty thunderbolt came terror; dreadful, fierce, thousand-minded, arrayed with hosts; the crush of battle, the slayer of five peoples—Maruts elder-born, may he become like Indra who rises up.
He is the wielder of the thunderbolt, the slayer of robbers, fearful and fierce, knowing many things, much eulogized and mighty, and like the Soma, inspiring the five classes of beings with vigour; may Indra, associated with the Maruts, be our protection.
Awful and fierce, fiend-slayer, thunder-wielder, with boundless knowledge, hymned by hundreds, mighty, In strength like Soma, guard of the Five Peoples, may Indra, girt by Maruts, be our succour.
