मार्कण्डेय उवाच वृथा जन्मानि चत्वारि वृथा दानानि षोडश। वृथा जन्म ह्यपुत्रस्य ये च धर्मबहिष्कृताः॥ परपाकेषु येऽश्नन्ति आत्मार्थं च पचेत् तु यः। पर्यश्नन्ति वृथा ये च तदसत्यं प्रकीर्त्यते।५॥
