Sūta said: When everything of the previous creation was burnt by the fire at the time of dissolution, the mountains got scattered over an extensive area. Due to chilliness in that vast sea-like expanse of water the scattered pieces of mountains were heaped up by the wind. Wherever they were deposited they became the stable mountains.
