Vasiṣṭha said:: He worshipped Kāśyapa in accordance with the injunctions of the sacred texts, by means of gold, gems, jewels, garments, horses, elephants, food and other things. He concluded the sacrifice (Yajñā). At the end of the Yajña he had his ceremonial bath called Avabhṛtha. Then with the sage’s permission, he performed the rite of Abandonment of wealth (by distribution of monetary gifts).
