Rāma said: Bow to the goddess who goes about on a lion (lit. the enemy of an elephant), who imbibes the juice of the fresh sugarcane, who has shining brillance in her limbs resembling the blue mountain, whose steps are quick, who has the name Lalitā, who is the suzerain of the Devas and who is an ocean of mercy.
