Vasiṣṭha said:: He had the vision of Parameśvara, the lord of Devas, by means of meditation. His inner mind was in a stable quiet state. He was a Maitra (an exalted Brāhmaṇa who had arrived at the highest state of human perfection due to close contact with the supreme Being). He was free from all sorts of obstacles.
