Sūta said: (I shall mention) the girth and length of hamlets, cities, and villages entirely as well as those of the three types of (natural) forts viz. mountains, waters (i.e. rivers) and waste-lands such as deserts etc., and the artificial forts as well. The diameter shall be half a Yojana. Its length shall be one and one eighth Yojanas.
