शूरसेना भद्रकारा बोधाः सहपटच्चराः। मत्स्याः कुशल्याः सौशल्याः कुन्तलाः काशिकोशलाः।।
śūrasenā bhadrakārā bodhāḥ sahapaṭaccarāḥ| matsyāḥ kuśalyāḥ sauśalyāḥ kuntalāḥ kāśikośalāḥ||
Romaharṣaṇa said: They have hundreds and thousands of ancillary tributaries. The following territories and realms have been, founded on (the banks of) these rivers: the Kurus, the Pāñcālas, the Śālvas, the Mādreyas. the Jāṅgalas, the Śūrasenas, the Bhadrakāras, the Bodhas, the Paṭaccaras, the Matsyas, the Kuśalyas, the Sauśalyas, the Kuntalas, the Kāśis, the Kosalas, the Godhas, the Bhadras, the Kaliṅgas, the Magadhas and the Utkalas. These are the realms in the middle of the country and most of them have been recounted.
