The New-Moon day is sacred to the pitṛs . A person shall commence works suited to the Devas presiding over particular lunar days. The 1 st , 6 th and 11 th lunar days are known as Nandā ; the 2 nd , 7 th , and 12 th , lunar days are known as Bhadrā ; the 3 rd , 8 th and 13 th lunar days are known as Vijayā ; the 4 th , 9 th , and 14 th lunar days are known as Riktā and the 5 th , 10 th and 15 th lunar days are known as Pūrṇā .
