Omens on the left side stated to be auspicious for yātrā are auspicious for other occasions if they are found in front; and omens on the right side stated to be auspicious for yātrā are auspicious for other occasions if they are found behind. Two birds flying one on each side of a traveller form an omen known as parigha . It is Kriyādīpta in nature and points to the death of the person starting on a journey.
