हि॒न्वन्ति॒ सूर॒मुस्र॑यः॒ स्वसा॑रो जा॒मय॒स्पति॑म् । म॒हामिन्दुं॑ मही॒युवः॑
hinvanti sūramusrayaḥ svasāro jāmayaspatim mahāminduṃ mahīyuvaḥ
They strike like streams; brothers invoke the host‑lord; they magnified the mighty Indu on earth.

pavamāna rucārucā devo devebhyaspari viśvā vasūnyā viśa
The purifying, bright and radiant god among gods, around the gods—he bestows all the riches.

ā pavamāna suṣṭutiṃ vṛṣṭiṃ devebhyo duvaḥ iṣe pavasva saṃyatam
Come, purifier, with praise and bounty to the gods; grant the desired control of the purifier.

You are vigorous by the radiant Sun; we invoke you, O heaven‑shining purifier.

ā pavasva suvīryaṃ mandamānaḥ svāyudha iho ṣvindavā gahi
Bring noble prowess, O valiant purifier, with thy own weapon; seize here the pair of Indras.

यद॒द्भिः प॑रिषि॒च्यसे॑ मृ॒ज्यमा॑नो॒ गभ॑स्त्योः । द्रुणा॑ स॒धस्थ॑मश्नुषे
yadadbhiḥ pariṣicyase mṛjyamāno gabhastyoḥ druṇā sadhasthamaśnuṣe
Whatever you anoint and cleanse from the belly, by flint and cord you bind the sacrificial post.

He sang the mighty Soma for the purifier; he of a thousand eyes made great.

yasya varṇaṃ madhuścutaṃ hariṃ hinvantyadribhiḥ indumindrāya pītaye
Whose hue is honey and bright, the mountain‑strikers slay Haris; for Indra‑Indu is to drink.

tasya te vājino vayaṃ viśvā dhanāni jigyuṣaḥ sakhitvamā vṛṇīmahe
For him the conquerors, we all seeking riches, choose friendship; we select companionship.

वृषा॑ पवस्व॒ धार॑या म॒रुत्व॑ते च मत्स॒रः । विश्वा॒ दधा॑न॒ ओज॑सा
vṛṣā pavasva dhārayā marutvate ca matsaraḥ viśvā dadhāna ojasā
O purifier, with the flow of thy strength, with marut‑like emulation; may you bestow strength and vigor to all.

तं त्वा॑ ध॒र्तार॑मो॒ण्यो॒३॒ः॑ पव॑मान स्व॒र्दृश॑म् । हि॒न्वे वाजे॑षु वा॒जिन॑म्
taṃ tvā dhartāramoṇyo3ḥ pavamāna svardṛśam hinve vājeṣu vājinam
That Dhartarama and the other three, purifier, behold thy splendour; may they win the prize in the oblations.

ayā citto vipānayā hariḥ pavasva dhārayā yujaṃ vājeṣu codaya
This mind, with abundant nourishment, Hari, by the purifier's flow; join and urge in the oblations.

ā na indo mahīmiṣaṃ pavasva viśvadarśataḥ asmabhyaṃ soma gātuvit
Come hither, Indra, the great lord of the earth, to the purifier who sees all; let Soma come to us.

May the pitcher’s flow, the moisture of the moon, and the streams of radiance come for Indra’s drink.

From whom your intoxicating, potent drink is milked by the mountains—he exults in the glowing sacrifice.

rājā medhābhirīyate pavamāno manāvadhi antarikṣeṇa yātave
O king, the thoughtful one rejoices; the invigorating breeze moves through the mind and travels the mid-air.

आ न॑ इन्दो शत॒ग्विनं॒ गवां॒ पोषं॒ स्वश्व्य॑म् । वहा॒ भग॑त्तिमू॒तये॑

May Indra carry a hundred herds, nourishing cattle and his own steeds—send forth the oblation for the prosperous.

ā naḥ soma saho juvo rūpaṃ na varcase bhara suṣvāṇo devavītaye
May Soma be with us, bringing youth and radiance; may he not deprive us of splendour—bestow the bright divine vigor.

अर्षा॑ सोम द्यु॒मत्त॑मो॒ऽभि द्रोणा॑नि॒ रोरु॑वत् । सीद॑ञ्छ्ये॒नो न योनि॒मा
arṣā soma dyumattamo'bhi droṇāni roruvat sīdañchyeno na yonimā
Soma, the most luminous in the heavens, flowed down the ladles' channels; may he settle in the mystic womb of the sacrificer.

apsā indrāya vāyave varuṇāya marudbhyaḥ somo arṣati viṣṇave
Waters for Indra, the winds for Varuna, for the Maruts—Soma pours forth and serves Vishnu.

इषं॑ तो॒काय॑ नो॒ दध॑द॒स्मभ्यं॑ सोम वि॒श्वतः॑ । आ प॑वस्व सह॒स्रिण॑म्
iṣaṃ tokāya no dadhadasmabhyaṃ soma viśvataḥ ā pavasva sahasriṇam
Present this draught as a stream to us widely: Soma, grant thousandfold vigor and the effusion of strength.

ये सोमा॑सः परा॒वति॒ ये अ॑र्वा॒वति॑ सुन्वि॒रे । ये वा॒दः श॑र्य॒णाव॑ति
ye somāsaḥ parāvati ye arvāvati sunvire ye vādaḥ śaryaṇāvati
Those Somās who travel afar, who rouse the heroes—those who awaken speech and the bow.

य आ॑र्जी॒केषु॒ कृत्व॑सु॒ ये मध्ये॑ प॒स्त्या॑नाम् । ये वा॒ जने॑षु प॒ञ्चसु॑
ya ārjīkeṣu kṛtvasu ye madhye pastyānām ye vā janeṣu pañcasu
Those placed in jars and those among the five peoples, those in the midst of the assemblies—they are invoked.

ते नो॑ वृ॒ष्टिं दि॒वस्परि॒ पव॑न्ता॒मा सु॒वीर्य॑म् । सु॒वा॒ना दे॒वास॒ इन्द॑वः
te no vṛṣṭiṃ divaspari pavantāmā suvīryam suvānā devāsa indavaḥ
Grant us the rain that spreads widely, O winds, noble and heroic; the gods rejoice with Indra’s might.

पव॑ते हर्य॒तो हरि॑र्गृणा॒नो ज॒मद॑ग्निना । हि॒न्वा॒नो गोरधि॑ त्व॒चि
pavate haryato harirgṛṇāno jamadagninā hinvāno goradhi tvaci
The offering sender, Harita or Harigṛṇā, with Jamadagni—diminished on the ox’s hide—bring forth the gift.

pra śukrāso vayojuvo hinvānāso na saptayaḥ śrīṇānā apsu mṛñjata
The bright youths, the vigorous singers, the seven who strike—wash away in waters their splendor.

You were born among the sons; strike forth, O gods, for the worshippers—he is the radiant invoker of the worshipful.
