Hear this: the songs, the hymns offered to the highest, for the sake of Lord Indra. He who sings and praises, desiring gain, even a thousandfold treasure may he win.

Countless are the causes of Indra’s foes and the earth’s hostile plots. The mountain does not chew the generous one; if the well-born lack sustenance, they fall.

If the sons indeed were kindly and beloved, the waters would not pour down destruction; the streams would not drain the dwelling as if milking it dry.

Bring us Soma, the libation at the altar, whose sweetness pleases not only you. Those who sing your praises, the youthful choirs, offer the hymn and the oblation in the household.

Call forth the mighty hero, the dispenser of wealth and glory, the one who stretches forth might. Like a thunderbolt he rides the storm; may his abundant power ever roar to the oblation.

What surpasses not the heavens nor the earth — join, O Indra, with brave heroes; with mighty seers seize great strength again and again.

Thus are your riches, O brave ones, newly found wisdom: as one counts a herd when dividing wealth, so you measure out this portion on the tenfold path.

As Kanva the generous, in measured flow, laid out long roads at the chariot-rail, as he yoked cows to the mountain-folds, so bring forth a lineage of wealth and glorious fame.
