यु॒वोरु॒ षू रथं॑ हुवे स॒धस्तु॑त्याय सू॒रिषु॑ । अतू॑र्तदक्षा वृषणा वृषण्वसू
yuvoru ṣū rathaṃ huve sadhastutyāya sūriṣu atūrtadakṣā vṛṣaṇā vṛṣaṇvasū
I invoke your chariot, youths, for praise to the brave; unimpeded, with Daksha’s bulls, the bull-like hosts.

यु॒वं व॑रो सु॒षाम्णे॑ म॒हे तने॑ नासत्या । अवो॑भिर्याथो वृषणा वृषण्वसू
yuvaṃ varo suṣāmṇe mahe tane nāsatyā avobhiryātho vṛṣaṇā vṛṣaṇvasū
You are the boon for the sacrificer at the great assembly; thus bestowing strength, like bulls you grant prosperity.

tā vāmadya havāmahe havyebhirvājinīvasū pūrvīriṣa iṣayantāvati kṣapaḥ
We invoke these oblations for you today with libations of sacred fat; the foremost ones desired strength and boundless vigour.

आ वां॒ वाहि॑ष्ठो अश्विना॒ रथो॑ यातु श्रु॒तो न॑रा । उप॒ स्तोमा॑न्तु॒रस्य॑ दर्शथः श्रि॒ये
ā vāṃ vāhiṣṭho aśvinā ratho yātu śruto narā upa stomānturasya darśathaḥ śriye
May the mighty Ashvins bring to you a chariot to bear it, O men heard of; present the song and reveal the splendour.

जु॒हु॒रा॒णा चि॑दश्वि॒ना म॑न्येथां वृषण्वसू । यु॒वं हि रु॑द्रा॒ पर्ष॑थो॒ अति॒ द्विषः॑
juhurāṇā cidaśvinā manyethāṃ vṛṣaṇvasū yuvaṃ hi rudrā parṣatho ati dviṣaḥ
I call the two swift Ashvins of clear fame; I deem them to hate the foe who rages like Rudra.

dasrā hi viśvamānuṣaṅmakṣūbhiḥ paridīyathaḥ dhiyaṃjinvā madhuvarṇā śubhaspatī
Indeed the ten, embracing all men with their glances, were revealed by the thinkers; they, honey‑bright, auspicious lords.

उप॑ नो यातमश्विना रा॒या वि॑श्व॒पुषा॑ स॒ह । म॒घवा॑ना सु॒वीरा॒वन॑पच्युता
upa no yātamaśvinā rāyā viśvapuṣā saha maghavānā suvīrāvanapacyutā
Bring us forth, O Ashvins, with offerings, with wealth‑bestowing might; glorious heroes, not to be broken.

ā me asya pratīvya1mindranāsatyā gatam devā devebhiradya sacanastamā
Grant me the favour of this firm eastward journey, like Indra’s safeguard; the gods with gods allied, give steadfastness.

vayaṃ hi vāṃ havāmaha ukṣaṇyanto vyaśvavat sumatibhirupa viprāvihā gatam
We indeed performed for you the oblation, spreading widely; with good counsels the priests have come together.

अ॒श्विना॒ स्वृ॑षे स्तुहि कु॒वित्ते॒ श्रव॑तो॒ हव॑म् । नेदी॑यसः कूळयातः प॒णीँरु॒त
aśvinā svṛṣe stuhi kuvitte śravato havam nedīyasaḥ kūḷayātaḥ paṇīm̐ruta
Praise the Ashvins in the well‑finished place of worship; may the swift ones roll away the obstructions from the bank of the stream.

वै॒य॒श्वस्य॑ श्रुतं नरो॒तो मे॑ अ॒स्य वे॑दथः । स॒जोष॑सा॒ वरु॑णो मि॒त्रो अ॑र्य॒मा
vaiyaśvasya śrutaṃ naroto me asya vedathaḥ sajoṣasā varuṇo mitro aryamā
To the fleet of Vaiśvásva, the hearer of manly deeds, this prayer was known; Varuṇa, Mitra, Aryaman joined in friendship.

यु॒वाद॑त्तस्य धिष्ण्या यु॒वानी॑तस्य सू॒रिभिः॑ । अह॑रहर्वृषण॒ मह्यं॑ शिक्षतम्
yuvādattasya dhiṣṇyā yuvānītasya sūribhiḥ aharaharvṛṣaṇa mahyaṃ śikṣatam
Your generosity gave boldness, your coming brought famed heroes; day after day the bulls taught me.

yo vāṃ yajñebhirāvṛto'dhivastrā vadhūriva saparyantā śubhe cakrāte aśvinā
He who girded you with sacrifices stood over you like a slayer; the Ashvins drove the auspicious rites round about.

yo vāmuruvyacastamaṃ ciketati nṛpāyyam vartiraśvinā pari yātamasmayū
He who carried you forth without delay perceived this for the king; the Ashvins made the wealth go about for us.

asmabhyaṃ su vṛṣaṇvasū yātaṃ vartirnṛpāyyam viṣudruheva yajñamūhathurgirā
To us came that ruling wealth, O bull‑like ones, which the ceremony purified; the mountains invoked the sacrifice with loud voice.

वाहि॑ष्ठो वां॒ हवा॑नां॒ स्तोमो॑ दू॒तो हु॑वन्नरा । यु॒वाभ्यां॑ भूत्वश्विना
vāhiṣṭho vāṃ havānāṃ stomo dūto huvannarā yuvābhyāṃ bhūtvaśvinā
May the best bringer of oblation, the envoy of the worship, carry you away, O men; through both of you, O Ashvins, be there abundance.

When the heaven and the ocean sent forth eagerness, when the pride reached the house; hear for me, O immortals.

uta syā śvetayāvarī vāhiṣṭhā vāṃ nadīnām sindhurhiraṇyavartaniḥ
Bring forth the white‑garmented flood, the best for our rivers; Sindhu, the golden‑winding one.

स्मदे॒तया॑ सुकी॒र्त्याश्वि॑ना श्वे॒तया॑ धि॒या । वहे॑थे शुभ्रयावाना
smadetayā sukīrtyāśvinā śvetayā dhiyā vahethe śubhrayāvānā
With this praise, O shining Ashvins, bring forth bright minds; carry us, O radiant ones.

यु॒क्ष्वा हि त्वं र॑था॒सहा॑ यु॒वस्व॒ पोष्या॑ वसो । आन्नो॑ वायो॒ मधु॑ पिबा॒स्माकं॒ सव॒ना ग॑हि
yukṣvā hi tvaṃ rathāsahā yuvasva poṣyā vaso ānno vāyo madhu pibāsmākaṃ savanā gahi
Guide, you who share the chariot; nourish our strength and wealth. O Vayu, grant us sweet breath; seize for us the flowing vigor.

O Vayu, lord of winds, your maker Tvashtri is wondrous; choose us for yourselves.

त्वष्टु॒र्जामा॑तरं व॒यमीशा॑नं रा॒य ई॑महे । सु॒ताव॑न्तो वा॒युं द्यु॒म्ना जना॑सः
tvaṣṭurjāmātaraṃ vayamīśānaṃ rāya īmahe sutāvanto vāyuṃ dyumnā janāsaḥ
Tvashtri, maker, we revere you as ruler and protector; the offspring of heaven and people are Vayu and Dyaus.

vāyo yāhi śivā divo vahasvā su svaśvyam vahasva mahaḥ pṛthupakṣasā rathe
Vayu, come auspiciously from the sky with your good steeds; carry us on wide high paths like a chariot.

त्वां हि सु॒प्सर॑स्तमं नृ॒षद॑नेषु हू॒महे॑ । ग्रावा॑णं॒ नाश्व॑पृष्ठं मं॒हना॑
tvāṃ hi supsarastamaṃ nṛṣadaneṣu hūmahe grāvāṇaṃ nāśvapṛṣṭhaṃ maṃhanā
For you are the finest of aerial ones; we invoke you in assemblies of men. Drive away the herds' destruction, the horse's back‑pain, O mightiest.

स त्वं नो॑ देव॒ मन॑सा॒ वायो॑ मन्दा॒नो अ॑ग्रि॒यः । कृ॒धि वाजा॑ँ अ॒पो धियः॑
sa tvaṃ no deva manasā vāyo mandāno agriyaḥ kṛdhi vājām̐ apo dhiyaḥ
You, O Vayu, are our divine mind; with slow force and foremost power, make the strength of waters and thoughts for us.
