प्र वो॑ मि॒त्राय॑ गायत॒ वरु॑णाय वि॒पा गि॒रा । महि॑क्षत्रावृ॒तं बृ॒हत्
pra vo mitrāya gāyata varuṇāya vipā girā mahikṣatrāvṛtaṃ bṛhat
I sing forth for Mitra, for Varuna the ample voice; the mighty realm is encompassed and vast.

स॒म्राजा॒ या घृ॒तयो॑नी मि॒त्रश्चो॒भा वरु॑णश्च । दे॒वा दे॒वेषु॑ प्रश॒स्ता
samrājā yā ghṛtayonī mitraścobhā varuṇaśca devā deveṣu praśastā
The kings whose origin is ghee—Mitra is their glory and Varuna their splendour; praised are the gods among the gods.

ता नः॑ शक्तं॒ पार्थि॑वस्य म॒हो रा॒यो दि॒व्यस्य॑ । महि॑ वां क्ष॒त्रं दे॒वेषु॑
tā naḥ śaktaṃ pārthivasya maho rāyo divyasya mahi vāṃ kṣatraṃ deveṣu
They placed for us the potent realm of the mighty divine kings; grant to us the earthly sovereignty among the gods.

ऋ॒तमृ॒तेन॒ सप॑न्तेषि॒रं दक्ष॑माशाते । अ॒द्रुहा॑ दे॒वौ व॑र्धेते
ṛtamṛtena sapanteṣiraṃ dakṣamāśāte adruhā devau vardhete
With the deathless law the swift ones sought this rite of Daksha; the two gods advanced and grew.

वृ॒ष्टिद्या॑वा री॒त्या॑पे॒षस्पती॒ दानु॑मत्याः । बृ॒हन्तं॒ गर्त॑माशाते
vṛṣṭidyāvā rītyāpeṣaspatī dānumatyāḥ bṛhantaṃ gartamāśāte
They hoped for abundant rain and for cattle like marsh-dwelling lords; they sought a vast pit (store) with devotion.
