आ चि॑कितान सु॒क्रतू॑ दे॒वौ म॑र्त रि॒शाद॑सा । वरु॑णाय ऋ॒तपे॑शसे दधी॒त प्रय॑से म॒हे
ā cikitāna sukratū devau marta riśādasā varuṇāya ṛtapeśase dadhīta prayase mahe
The two gods, skilled and kindly, have been invoked—Varuna and the radiant one—let him offer for Varuna the law and give the great libation with effort.

ता हि क्ष॒त्रमवि॑ह्रुतं स॒म्यग॑सु॒र्य१॒॑माशा॑ते । अध॑ व्र॒तेव॒ मानु॑षं॒ स्व१॒॑र्ण धा॑यि दर्श॒तम्
tā hi kṣatramavihrutaṃ samyagasurya1māśāte adha vrateva mānuṣaṃ sva1rṇa dhāyi darśatam
They cherished the unshaken dominion and rightly hoped for the sun; behold they established for men a golden-suggested law and showed it clearly.

ता वा॒मेषे॒ रथा॑नामु॒र्वीं गव्यू॑तिमेषाम् । रा॒तह॑व्यस्य सुष्टु॒तिं द॒धृक्स्तोमै॑र्मनामहे
tā vāmeṣe rathānāmurvīṃ gavyūtimeṣām rātahavyasya suṣṭutiṃ dadhṛkstomairmanāmahe
Those (ways) are the marvellous chariots of the forefront herds; we place praise in the rite of the night-offering and honor the Soma with intent.

अधा॒ हि काव्या॑ यु॒वं दक्ष॑स्य पू॒र्भिर॑द्भुता । नि के॒तुना॒ जना॑नां चि॒केथे॑ पूतदक्षसा
adhā hi kāvyā yuvaṃ dakṣasya pūrbhiradbhutā ni ketunā janānāṃ cikethe pūtadakṣasā
Yea, this youthful poetry was made by Daksha in former times; by what banner did he touch the people—he purified them with skillful rites.

तदृ॒तं पृ॑थिवि बृ॒हच्छ्र॑वए॒ष ऋषी॑णाम् । ज्र॒य॒सा॒नावरं॑ पृ॒थ्वति॑ क्षरन्ति॒ याम॑भिः
tadṛtaṃ pṛthivi bṛhacchravaeṣa ṛṣīṇām jrayasānāvaraṃ pṛthvati kṣaranti yāmabhiḥ
Thus on the wide earth the great-hearing sages go forth; through abundant vigor they traverse the earth with their paths.

आ यद्वा॑मीयचक्षसा॒ मित्र॑ व॒यं च॑ सू॒रयः॑ । व्यचि॑ष्ठे बहु॒पाय्ये॒ यते॑महि स्व॒राज्ये॑
ā yadvāmīyacakṣasā mitra vayaṃ ca sūrayaḥ vyaciṣṭhe bahupāyye yatemahi svarājye
By the leftward eye—that is, O Mitra, we and the heroes—having been set apart, we excel by many devices when we possess sovereignty.
